Video games are uniquely well-suited to eliciting emotional responses, and what better way to use that power than to promote a better tomorrow? The last decade and a half have seen a record number of natural disasters and other bizarre weather events, and it seems obvious that the Earth is reacting poorly to humanity's changes to its environment. While the peaceful nature and serene tone are sometimes interrupted by uneven mechanics, Terra Nil is a worthwhile experience for those looking for a new twist on the sim genre. Many who grew up in the 1990s are all too familiar with hokey environmental messages, and Terra Nil seems like a much better way to get this all-important moral across. Hey all, I recently played through Terra Nil and I’m looking for suggestions of games similar. In focusing on environmental expansion instead of human expansion, Terra Nil delivers something wholly unique. ![]() Those who want to see how the game works for themselves can check out the Steam Next Fest on June 16 to download a playable demo. ![]() While Devolver Digital and Free Lives have not announced even a release window for Terra Nil as of yet, the game will have a playable debut sooner rather than later. ![]()
